Get “Yellow & Pink” While You Can

Imagine two wooden dolls—one freshly painted yellow and the other pink—lying outside, drying on an old newspaper. These dolls come to life and contemplate where they came from. That’s the premise behind the book Yellow & Pink, a short tale that explores how absurd it would be to explain the complexity of creation by chance and time.

I was reminded of this book while my daughter was reading Defeating Darwinism by Opening Minds by the late Phillip Johnson. That’s also a great book that highlights the scientific establishment’s efforts to stifle debate, open-mindedness, and critical thinking when it comes to the discussion on origins.

Many people (on both sides of the evolution debate) are familiar with Phillip Johnson and his books (e.g., Darwin on Trial). They’re standard reading for Christians and other intelligent design advocates. Yellow & Pink, however, is far less known. My wife and I used to read it to our once-elementary-aged children. We pulled it out recently to get reacquainted with it and love it for its simplicity. Get it before it’s canceled.
